If you're lucky enough to have a large bathroom then you'll have space to add additional storage but if your bathroom or en-suite is smaller, then how do you get the most out of the available space?
This guide will give you advice on what features to look for in a bathroom cabinet depending on the size of your bathroom.
Large bathrooms
If you have a lot of space you can go wild. Think about large stainless steel or chrome cabinets, these can have out-swinging doors or perhaps three or more sections. Big rectangle shaped cabinets with large shiny or mirrored surfaces will be an impressive addition to your bathroom. Similarly, why not introduce some lighting into your storage? Illuminated cabinets are expensive but look fantastic.
But maybe this style doesn't suit you. Perhaps you want something a bit more traditional looking. Ornate vanity units and washstands maximise space and give good storage options.
Small bathrooms
Corner units and tall cabinets are the ultimate space-saving idea for your bathroom. These fit into the nooks and crannies that would otherwise go unused. These can be especially useful for en-suite or cloakroom bathrooms. When space is limited it's a good idea to think about fitting storage in wherever you can. Vanity units can also be good as these fit cupboard space beneath your basin, maximising what would be unused space.
Sometimes you need to think small to think big. Your bathroom is small so why not go for smaller cabinets. Many small wooden cabinets can be quite deep providing a good amount of storage space and often include shelving or drawers giving you plenty of options.
Mirrors make rooms look bigger, this is a well-known fact. However, they also take up a lot of wall space. So, why not combine this with some storage space? That's what mirror cabinets are for. You can pack as much into them as you would a normal cabinet but the mirrored surface comes in very handy and looks great.
Other storage options to think of for small bathrooms include storage bath panels. Featuring sections which are easily removed it provides an additional option for storing things like cleaning products.
Remember that whatever the size of your bathroom it's easy to make it look good. It's important to make the most of what's available to you when considering storage and cabinets. Spend some time looking at different bathroom cabinets and weighing up your options before buying.
