If there is one universal problem that all parents share it is trying to keep their kids and themselves organized. The biggest problem is usually that there just isn't enough space to keep all of the toys, clothes, and books in. The good news is that with the new innovations in furniture specifically designed for children's bedrooms there are many great options to help get your family organized.

One of the best organizational options for a child's room is a Captains bed. Captains beds are a regular bed with a bookcase style headboard, under-bed storage drawers, and sometimes an optional trundle bed. The shelves and/or cabinets that make up the headboard offer a great place to store books, a lamp, small toys, or whatever you need the extra space for. The under-bed storage drawers offer easily accessible and much needed drawer space where you can keep toys or clothes tucked away neatly. The trundle bed option is one that makes having sleepovers a breeze. All you have to do is pull the already made up bed out from under the Captain's bed and, viola, ready-made sleepover.

Another great option is a Mates bed. The Mate's bed is very similar to a Captains bed. The main difference is that a Mates bed has a more traditional headboard without the shelves but still has the under-bed storage drawers and optional trundle bed. These beds are great because they are a little smaller than a Captains bed allowing them to fit into a smaller space but still make use of the available space under the bed.

Bunk beds are always a popular choice when you have two kids sharing one bedroom. By using a bunk bed you are saving a ton of floor space that can be used for desks, bookcases, or dressers. This means that you can be sure to have plenty of space for all of that stuff that typically ends up all over the floor. There are also some great bunk beds that have desks or futons in place of the lower bunk. These allow parents of a single child to still save space in a small room.

An essential item for any bedroom is a good dresser. Choosing the right dresser for your room can make a big difference. If you are in need of more floor space be sure to look for a dresser that has a smaller footprint but is taller to accommodate more drawers. Conversely, if you have plenty of floor space but need more desktop and/or shelf space you should consider a chest-of-drawers style dresser with a hutch.

Finding the space you need to keep your home organized is all about planning. Shopping around for smart, storage oriented furniture will help you get the most out of your available space. Whether your child is a teenager or a toddler, beds with storage options will help you to keep their space as neat and tidy as the rest of your home.
