When thinking about remodeling a bathroom, you first think about replacing the tub. Most people just put a new tub over the old. This can be done on your own or you can hire a contractor. If you do it yourself you can save money, but probably will take a lot of time. You can also save money by changing some other things beside the tub. If you want to change the tub because it is cramped, try changing the curtain rod instead.
Most tubs have showers in them also. Most standard tubs with showers are 30x60. Even though the size is the same, some tubs just seem to not have enough room. If it's annoying to turn around and you're always rubbing up against the curtain, consider getting a different type of shower curtain rod, not a new tub.
How does a new shower rod give you more room in your tub? There are new rods you can buy called curved shower curtain rods. This type of rod can increase your shower space by 3 to 6 inches. The ends of the rod attach in the same place as traditional rods but this one curves in the middle.
You can get a curved shower curtain rod in different styles and colors to match your other bath accessories. Even though the rod is stretched, the shower curtain does not come out of the tub and you don't have to worry about water leaking out. There is no need for a larger curtain.
Don't think about remodeling your whole bathroom. Just changing the little things will make a big difference. Once you get the shower curtain rod, look into getting a new curtain also. You can easily add color to your bathroom by using a multi-color curtain. This is an easy way to add some flair to your bathroom. Get a fabric one with a liner and add some sophistication to your bath.
Small changes cost little but make a big difference. Because you spend the most time in your bedroom and bathroom, those rooms should be comfortable.
It's not hard to liven up your bathroom without spending a lot of money. Make the most of what you already have by using a curved shower curtain and increase your space.
If you're tired of the same old thing for shower curtains, try a new twist which also can make hanging a curtain easier - try a hookless shower curtain rod and stop fighting with the curtain hooks.
