The idea of having a theme based decorating idea for their home interiors confuses many people. To make it simple a "decorating theme" is nothing but a set of parameters that share common properties.
What does this mean?
To understand this properly, let's do a simple exercise. Take a piece of paper and write down the common bedroom accessories you will be using while decorating. These can be curtains, wallpapers, lighting fixtures, furniture (existing or new), picture frames, etc.
Each one of these accessories has it's own design style in itself. This can be modern/contemporary/oriental/country, etc.
Now if you combine all accessories into one place, that have a contemporary look and use them in bedroom decorating, you have a "contemporary bedroom-decorating theme". A theme is nothing but a collection of decorating accessories that share a common design style.
You can easily reverse the theme into an "oriental" one by choosing specific accessories that will reflect more intricate detailing work. For example in the oriental style decorating theme more attention is given to curved surfaces as against straight line and simple forms in the modern/contemporary decorating theme.
Since a bedroom is never an independent housing unit. It is always attached and is a part of the entire home plan. The decorating theme of the bedroom must also reflect the theme of the entire home interior design as well. Depending upon the type of bedroom there will be minor changes in the final executed design.
The types of bedrooms will be master bedroom, teenager bedroom, kids bedroom, guest bedroom, etc. All these will have their own specific functions and requirements. But the overall decorating theme can still be maintained that will easily create a visual flow i accordance with the entire home decorating theme.

Siesta Beach #1 www.sarasotafl.org/siesta-key See why Siesta Beach was ranked as #1 beach in the US by Dr. Beach!
Love the beach so much that you want a piece of it at your home too? Well, we might just have the solution to that. Recreate the magic of the beach in your bedroom to enjoy the serene calmness of the ocean even when you are lying in bed. The beach bedroom theme has caught on and is really popular among the beach lovers. If you and your partner really love the beach, then create your own piece of the beach in your bedroom. It is a fresh and vibrant theme and one that will garner you a lot of compliments.
The primary step like in the case of any redecoration is painting the room. The obvious choice for the beach look would be blue. However, what exact shade of blue you would want is entirely up to you. Some might prefer the turquoise blue or a shade that looks more like sea-green. Pick a shade that you like best. In essential the color must make you feel like you are out in the open. Such colors generally bring a roomy feeling and the room feels extra airy. The color blue is also soothing to the eye.
While a white bedspread would the most appropriate option, it is often said that it very hard to maintain white bedspreads. Hence opt for something in khaki or in the color of chocolate, something that is reminiscent of the sand. If the walls are in a light color then opt for a darker bedspread and vice-versa. We would like to add that beach themed bedspreads are just too tacky really and do not create the beach ambience in your bedroom. You could also match your down comforter to the color of the walls to get a comfy look. Any charms that you have collected yourself in the beach can also be carefully positioned to create an ambience of romance.
For that beachy feeling, window coverings are really important. Sheer drapes are the best option for the beach bedroom themes. Having lots of pillows on the bed some in solid colors and some with a few shells sewn into the fabric would be a very nice touch too. Adding a touch like replacing the ceiling fan in the room with a leaf fan would also be a great observation. You could also add black and white photos of the beach and related photos to your wall in strategic positions. Remember not to overcrowd, as in the case of decorating less is definitely more.

Your bedroom is your sanctuary. A place to get away from the humdrum of the world. Even when you are out, sometimes you can't wait to get back home. It is so because your home is your comfort zone. To give your mood and your life a little lift, you can redecorate your bedroom and give it a little twist. There are many bedroom theme ideas for you to choose from, or you could give your imagination a free rein and let your own ideas run wild. Either way you create for yourself a perfect place for your private R&R.
Do you have the classic white colored walls in your bedroom? If yes, then maybe it is high time that you spice it up a bit. Painting the room is one of the basic and most important part of redecorating. A fresh coat of paint can transform any room and give you that much needed change. You opt for a funky design or embellishment on your walls or could just paint all the walls in a nice, funky color. Light and bright colors tend to make your rooms look more spacious than they actually are.
While you may have many bedroom theme ideas, remember you budget and make plans accordingly. There are many things that you can do and they would not empty your bank account either. For example you could upholster a headboard in a dreamy fabric and it would make an amazing statement. If you have a chair in the room, even the chair can be upholstered in the same fabric to retain continuity. Adding night tables and other such decorative items in different shades of the color you have painted your room in, will make it look elegant without making it seem overwhelming.
If everything matches or is in the same color, the space seems far from relaxing. Make sure you do not over decorate the room and end up with a monstrosity. Stick to simplicity and you cannot really go wrong. Just don't pick everything in the same color and same shade, trust us; it is going to hurt your eye to even look at it later. Experiment with small treats that in other colors to make your bedroom look vibrant and alive. Bedroom theme ideas should be nurturing to the eye and remember that this is place where you spend a lot of time, so it should e comfortable as well.

Being a child is all about new discoveries and fantasy. Whether your child dreams to be a fairytale princess or a superhero, they need a room that will inspire them. So it would be a nice idea to decorate their room in themes where they can play and be themselves. There are so many fantasy themes to choose from. It really is up to you to select one from these numerous options. But before considering one specific theme for you child's room, make sure that it is something that reflects his personality. After all, he will be the one staying in that room most of the time. Here are a few theme suggestions you can use for decorating your kid's space.
If your child loves music then it is only appropriate to decorate his room in a musical theme. In decorating the room, the walls are typically the focus of the whole set-up. You can paint the wall with a bright color like blue or red. Then paint it with an instrument that your child particularly loves like a guitar. If this idea seems bold for you, you can just a hang up a musical wall art in one wall. This piece of art will instantly create a charming effect on the walls. You can also hang musical notes door curtains against the wall or over a window. Inflatable instruments are also a good idea. This could be hung on the wall or suspended from the ceiling.
A little girl will love a princess themed bedroom. For the walls, make your princess feel that she is inside a tower. Create stone designs on the wall and arched windows openings. You can make the window treatments resemble a crown by using decorative rod and a padded cornice board. The furniture inside the room should be regal so be sure to select small antique furniture like dressers and tables. The child's bed will be the focal point of this theme. Choose a bed with canopy rails and use a multi layered canopy treatment to create a princess-like bed. Also use the color purple and gold to create that majestic effect.
A firefighter themed room will be perfect for your child if he dreams of becoming one someday. There are many ideas you can incorporate like creating his bed into a mini fire truck or painting his walls with symbols representing firefighters. You can also use other furniture inside the room to complement the firefighter theme. For instance, you can paint his dresser with black spots to pay tribute to the Dalmatians who helps firemen do their job.
A popular bedroom theme for little boys probably is the space theme. You can easily transform his bedroom to look like he is in solar space by painting planet images on the walls and creating a bed spaceship. You can also use lighting techniques to create an outer space mood to it.
Most kids love sports so creating a football themed bedroom can also be a great design for a kid's room. Paint the child's room using the colors of his favorite football theme. Make a distinct window treatment by using a football jersey and helmet. For the bed, instead of purchasing a headboard, have a piece of plywood cut with a curved top. You can design this headboard into a large football. Accessorize everything inside the room with football theme logos and team colors.
Decorating a child's bedroom can be both a challenge and a joy. This is a task wherein a parent can bond with her child by working together to create a magical place for him. There are many themes you can do from a musical theme of hanging up musical wall art to a firefighter bedroom with a fire truck bed. Your options are almost endless. You just have to include basic items of your theme like musical notes or castles to be able to create a specific mood for your child's bedroom. It may be hard at first but eventually you'll realize that all your work has paid off when you see your child happily playing inside his room.

Thinking about redecorating your bedroom but don't know where to start? A popular choice is to decorate in a tropical theme. You will feel like you are on vacation every day when you start it in a relaxing, tropical atmosphere.
The first place to start is with wall color. Choose a color along the lines of sea foam green or a turquoise blue. These colors are very relaxing and they represent coastal colors. Use can use accents of white and yellow in window treatments. A great choice for furniture color in a tropical themed room is white. The room will feel bright and airy.
There are many choices in tropical bedding. You can choose a solid color and then accent with tropical patterned pillows or you can choose a tropical pattern in the bedding itself. I suggest you look around to find a bedding set you like and then go from there. You can choose to either find the bedding first or paint the walls first and match the bedding to the wall color.
Decorate the walls with framed prints with a tropical flair. You can get palm tree prints fairly reasonable on line. You can also choose a beach or ocean landscape. Match your frames to the color of your furniture for a finished look.
Some of the options to accessorize your room would be to pick up a few tropical frames and put framed pictures around the room. You can also buy some candles for atmosphere. I've seen candles in a tricolor of blue green and white which would look really nice. There are even tropical themed candle holders. Depending on how much you want to decorate you can buy palm tree lamps and other accessories. Another suggest is to use a few plants with large leafs that look tropical. You can usually go to a craft store and find some artificial plants that would fit right into the theme.
Decorating your bedroom in a tropical theme is very easy to accomplish. You can get most accessories pretty reasonable. Try looking online for the best prices in tropical decorating. Enjoy your new bedroom.

Gold is a popular color for the Egyptian motif because that was how magnificent pyramid interiors were. For this theme, you may also incorporate Egyptian writings and images that were prevalent in tombs and pyramids.

These two are alike in a way, and the Romans were said to improve a number of Greek arts including architecture. Both used columns, and if you have a big space then this is one of those good bedroom interior design ideas to work on.

If you have a teen at home, then you know that decorating a teenager bedroom is not the easiest thing in the world. Some teens will know exactly what they want, but it just may not be possible with the budget you have. Other teens may just not care what their room looks like. If you are coming up short on theme ideas for teenager bedrooms, then here are some great ones to consider.
Theme Ideas for a Teen Girl's Bedroom
Some teen girls may just want to go with a color scheme when it comes to their bedroom. Pink and brown, turquoise and brown, and purple and white are very common color schemes for a girl's bedroom. There are plenty of accessories and fabrics that you can find to match these types of color schemes.
A popular bedroom theme for a teen girl is the glamorous style. Even though this theme may sound quite expensive, you can find accessories, furniture, and other décor items that fit the theme but will not break your budget. Look for things with jeweled or glittery accents. A fake glass chandelier with a leopard print lamp on the nightstand would work great in this type of room.
Another popular theme for a teen girl's bedroom is the modern or funky style. This is definitely a style that you will need some input from your teenager on. A modern style can consist of unusual or contemporary artwork, designs and patterns on the wall, and bright colors. Be sure that if you do go with this theme for the bedroom, that it is not too out there so that your teen doesn't get tired of it within a few months.
Some other great theme ideas for a teen girl's bedroom are:
· French theme
· Black and white theme

Theme Ideas for a Teen Boy's Bedroom
Most teen boys don't have that much interest in what their bedroom theme is unless they are truly passionate about a hobby or activity. Some teen boys will simply just want a color scheme for their bedroom and will leave it at that. If your teen boy is like that, you can choose a color scheme that is more than just black or blue. Involve other colors like turquoise, green, red, yellow, brown, and orange to add some more color into the room.
One of the most popular bedroom themes for a teen boy is a sports related theme. It could concentrate on just one sport such as baseball or basketball, or it could be a general sports theme. It could also be decorated in their favorite professional or collegiate team as well. A sports theme is pretty easy to decorate as long as you make sure that you don't go too overboard and clutter the room with everything sports.
Another popular theme for a teen boy's bedroom is a car theme. If your son loves cars, whether they are old classic cars or the current hot racing cars, there are plenty of ideas that can go into a car theme. Pictures of cars can be framed and hung on the walls while a mural of a speedway can be painted on the walls.
